Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy will help to reduce muscle tension and enhance flexibility of muscles and the body’s natural healing processes. It is both it is both an active treatment where your muscles will be moved through their range of motion while massaging and also passive.

Thomas is a registered massage therapist with a unique background, having transitioned from being a varsity basketball player to becoming a Triathlete. He attended post grad from several institutions, including St. Lawrence College (Fitness & Health), York University (Kinesiology/Global Health), Carleton University (Cognitive Science), and the International Academy of Applied Health (Massage Therapy). Furthermore, he is a certified Mobility Specialist in FRC (Functional Range Conditioning) and has been working as a personal trainer since 2017. Additionally, he is on track to obtain certification in (FST) fascial stretch therapy.

Thomas is known for his distinctive treatment approach that harmoniously integrates soft tissue work with client movement. This innovative method promotes enhanced joint and muscle function by addressing deeper levels of anatomy.

Utilizing a fully comprehensive strategy that includes movement assessment, mobility training, exercise prescription, and movement education, Thomas empowers his clients to achieve optimal physical well-being. To facilitate this hands-on approach, clients are encouraged to wear workout clothing (such as shorts, sports bras, and t-shirts) during their sessions, as traditional table sheets are not utilized.

Certified Athletic Therapist/Registered Kinesiologist

Jenn Bushell is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Kinesiologist who specializes in treating musculoskeletal injuries in all athletes. Jenn completed a Bachelor of Science at Dalhousie University, a certificate in Athletic Therapy at York University, and a Masters in Athletic Training and Human Physiology at the University of Oregon. She has published research in leading sport medicine journals. She loves working with active individuals and sports teams, and has seen many teams to CIS and NCAA medals as well as top finishes at the Pan American games and other international tournaments. Jenn has been active on both her professional boards, promoting concussion protocols in Ontario high schools and Ottawa Sport Leagues.

Outside of Athletic Therapy, Jenn competes in triathlons and has represented Canada at ITU World Triathlon Grand Finals the last three seasons. She loves promoting movement and mobility to keep individuals active and prevent injury.

Amata is a Certified Athletic Therapist. She attended the University of Regina where she obtained her Bachelor of Kinesiology - Honours Human Kinetics degree. During this time she worked as a student trainer with the Men’s Volleyball Team. This experience lead her to the University of Manitoba where she completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology - Athletic Therapy degree. During her time there she worked with the Bison’s Track & Field Team and the Women’s Volleyball Team. Amata holds an additional certification in Soft Tissue Release - Level 1.

Outside of Athletic Therapy, Amata is still active playing softball during the spring/summer and volleyball during the fall/winter. She is also an assistant coach with the Ottawa Fusion Volleyball Club.

Nicol is a registered Physiotherapist who specializes in sports and lifting related musculoskeletal injuries. She graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor in Science specializing in Human Kinetics and a Masters in Physiotherapy. Since graduating, Nicol has received further education in concussion management, sports physiotherapy, dry needling, running assessments and received her level 1 Crossfit. She loves working with active individuals in sports and Crossfit and has worked with many teams including football, rugby and volleyball. Growing up, Nicol used to swim and curl competitively. Certified Athletic Therapist/Registered Kinesiologist

Sharon Welsby is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Kinesiologist who specializes in treating musculoskeletal injuries in all athletes. Sharon completed a Bachelor of Science at University of Guelph, a certificate in Athletic Therapy and Masters in Kinesiology at York University. She uses a variety of techniques including soft tissue release, craniosacral therapy, muscle energy techniques, visceral manipulation, joint mobilizations and exercise.

Sharon loves working with motivated, active individuals as well as high performance athletes. She is a Therapist with Canada Soccer Women’s youth programs and Field Hockey Canada and has travelled to multiple camps and tournaments internationally.

Additionally, Sharon has been focusing on pregnancy and post-partum exercise and treatment. She provides both hands-on treatment and exercises to optimize health and function, prepare for birth and return to activity post-baby.

Outside of Athletic Therapy, Sharon loves to be active and spend time outside whether it’s cycling, strength training, playing soccer or going for hikes with her dog, family and friends.

Physiotherapist

Spencer Yam is a Physiotherapist with considerable expertise in orthopedic and complex pain conditions and has also treated clients with neurologic and rheumatologic conditions. Spencer is a graduate from the Master of Physical Therapy program at the University of Western Ontario. Previously, he completed his Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa.
